Missionary Update: July 2010

Shan Reed – NAB
Greetings from Japan!
What a blessing it is to write to you from Japan and share about the ministry here! It was such a joy to return and find four of my friends from Gospel choir waiting for me at the airport. They were all even willing to give me a hug! We had a cup of tea and a sandwich and I tried to follow along in my jet-lagged state of mind. They assured me that I had not forgotten my Japanese.
On Sunday, April 4, I had the privilege of celebrating the resurrection with the people at Kongo Bible Church, as well as at Komyo Christian Church. What a blessing to worship our risen Savior together!
I have also had the opportunity to attend Gospel choir twice and lead the Gospel song and Bible class. It has been a joy to see friends again and get to share a little about life while I was in the United States.
Getting resettled into my life here has not taken long. It was fun unpacking my boxes
in my new condo and getting reacquainted with the neighborhood on my morning jogs. My friend Noriko, who visited me in SD last fall, has been an incredible help to me in getting my new cell phone and the internet connected at my condo. On April 25, she kindly played the keyboard for us at church! We have already had many good conversations!
This week I met a lady who lives in my building who returned last summer from five years in the U.S. with her family. She is very friendly and looking forward to introducing me to her daughter who is in sixth grade and missing America where we do not have junior high entrance exams! God continues to bring new people into my life!
Soli Deo Gloria, Shan in Japan
