Gwen and I want to thank you for praying for us last weekend while we were helping to lead a retreat of fasting and prayer with leaders of an evangelistic organization working with the 25,000,000 unreached (and terribly lost) adolescents all across Western Europe.
We asked you to pray for a deepening relationship with God, with each other and a united vision for reaching the youth of Europe. God powerfully answered in these three areas. On Friday evening I led the group in various kinds of prayer moments - by praying the Scriptures with each other. This helped launch the event by not just "talking" about prayer, but by actually praying, which they did willingly. The Friday night session ended with all of us being dismissed in silence. After that they took turns praying through the night in a specially prepared prayer room.
On Saturday, they spent the entire day in fasting and guided prayer sessions, using the Lord's Prayer to guide those prayer times. We left on Sunday, but the group continued on, this time working in small groups, country by country, ministry by ministry, putting together what the Lord was saying and developing strategies for their work with the youth of Europe. This was the FIRST time they had ever spent an entire day in fasting and prayer, and everyone seemed to agree that it had been worth the effort.
Please continue in prayer for us and our children and grandchildren.
You have no idea how much your love and prayers mean to us. Thank you for being God's people to and for us.
