So far we have had a very busy Spring and Summer.

We were able to attend quite a few award ceremonies this Spring. A few Citation awards were given out - which is quite an accomplishment and a blessing. It’s always amazing to us to see and hear how many verses the kids have learned and hopefully remember! We have presented the Awana program to several churches - some in Detroit and also the Flint area, have already done training for them and are looking forward to what the clubs will do to impact their communities. Rick just spoke with a pastor from down river yesterday, and we will be doing their training soon. (When available we try to be on site for the first club meeting or two to help them get off to a good start).

Our summer has also included participation at VBS programs. Rick was extremely busy writing curriculum for both. The numbers weren’t huge, but salvation was shared and souls were saved. We’re praying the kids that attended will keep going to church and growing in Christ. Right now, we’re gearing up for clubs starting soon, visiting programs, training, talking with pastors and presenting Awana to those that are interested. Rick has also done pulpit supply when asked.

On a personal note: Rick continues to recover and heal from his accident in Nov. 2014. After multiple gum graft surgeries, he is now in Invisalign braces which are moving the broken bones back into place so that a bone graft can be done in the upper set of teeth. After that is healed, he should be able to have a tooth implanted. It’s been a long road, but God is good and has smoothed the way. It has also been a good opportunity to witness to dentists and doctors along the way.
